Tsomgo Lake

At an altitude of 3779m, Lake Tsomgo is a lake surrounded by mountain ranges. The crisp air, brilliant blue water and tranquillity of the place make for a deeply rejuvenating experience. Spring sees the lake blooming with flowers whereas the lake remains frozen in the winter.

Baba Mandir

This is a temple devoted to the memory of Harbhajan Singh, a fighter martyred amid the Sino war. Harbhajan Singh shield his nation and individual officers on the Nathu La pass. It is believed that this legend has supernatural powers and that he monitors the soldiers who are at the border. He is the reason why this temple is of importance to tourists too.

View Point

The perfect spot to savour a beautiful sunrise and feast your eyes on the Kangchenjunga mountain. Offering breathtaking views of the mountain range, the color of the sky and the mountains as the sun rises in the sky. Binoculars are recommended. To get a full view of the rising sun, it is best to reach a little before dawn, generally around 5am, but varying as per the season. Gangtok provides an enriching experience to every kind of traveller, with its multitude of options for sightseeing and activities in and around. It is the ideal destination to beat the heat of the summer or escape from the din of bustling city life.

Ganesh Tok

Ganesh Tok is one of the celebrated vacation destinations in Gangtok, prestigious essentially because of its beautiful architecture. Found near the Tashi View Point and the Bakthang falls, a visit to Ganesh Tok is an absolute necessity while in Gangtok. This temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesh and is situated amidst nature. The view from this temple is mesmerizing. Spend time at the gallery close to the temple to enjoy a gander view of the scenic nature.

Institute of Tibetology (Closed on Sunday)

A place where Tibetan Buddhism is taught, the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology is a famous fascination in Gangtok. Since the district is vigorously influenced by Tibetan Buddhism, understanding it is an extraordinary method. Delightful Tibetan design characterizes the building and its exhibition hall houses a few statues, coins, hand depictions and weaving work (thangkas), Tibetan fine arts and antiquities, and also antiquated compositions in Sanskrit, Tibetan, Chinese, and Lepcha. The library of the Institute houses more than 60,000 books among which are the first lessons of Lord Buddha.

Dro-Dul Chorten

This is a Buddhist stupa, which is the traditional place of worship of sacred objects, and symbolizes peace. Giant Buddhist prayer wheels circle the stupa. The prayer wheels are inscribed with mantras, and spinning the wheels is believed to spread the peaceful vibrations of the mantra in the surroundings. Young monks can be seen to pursue their studies in and around the stupa.

Banjakhri Falls

On the off chance that you wish to appreciate some wonderful touring and picnicking in Gangtok, then head to Ban Jhakri falls. Situated inside the popular Energy Park, the 100-foot Ban Jhakri Waterfall is an excellent spot. Nature rules here, a still quietness hangs all around, just punctuated by the intense spouting of the water gushing on the stones. The Ban Jhakri Falls is of sacred importance to the locals here as they are said to have a power that can repulse insidious spirits. When you are in the recreation center, make a point to visit the man-made lake. Popular among the locals, this place has visitors throughout the year.

New Jalpaiguri Rly Station / Bagdogra Airport – Gangtok (About 120 kms / 5 hrs)

Meet & Greet on arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport & transfer to Gangtok. On arrival Check-in to hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay will be at Gangtok.

DAY-2

Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

After breakfast start for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) & Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.) which is 55 km one way from Gangtok city. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

(In case of Land slide or any other reason Tsomgo Lake is closed we will provide alternate sightseeing.)

DAY-3

Gangtok Local Sightseeing

Start for a Full day city tour covering Tashi view point, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, Flower show, Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre (Closed on Sunday and 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month), Institute of Tibetology (Closed on Sunday), Dro-Dul Chorten, Gonjang Monastery & Banjakhri Falls (maximum 6 hours). Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Gangtok – Pelling (150 kms / 5 hrs) via Chardham

After breakfast start for Pelling (6,300 ft.). En route visit Siddheshwar Dham (Chardham) and Sai Temple in Namchi. On arrival check in to your hotel. Overnight stay at Pelling.

Pelling Sightseeing

After breakfast start for a full day of sightseeing. 1st Half tour - Darap village, Rimbi water Falls, Khecheopalri Lake & Khangchendzongha waterfalls. In the afternoon start for the 2nd half tour - Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdantse Ruins, Sang-Ngag Choling (Sky Walk), New Helipad Ground. Overnight stay at Pelling.

Pelling – Darjeeling (80 kms /4 hrs)

This morning after breakfast transfer to Darjeeling (6,950 ft.) via Singla check post. On arrival check in to your hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Darjeeling Sightseeing

Early morning (4:00 AM) visit Tiger Hill (Subject to availability of Permit / Token) back to the hotel. After breakfast starts at 8.30 AM visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock, Ropeway, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Japanese Temple, Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop. Evening free for shopping or leisure. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.
